Jackie O’Dell is a Health and Safety expert whose training, instruction, and management have created a persistent culture of safety and hazard prevention for the InterSpec team. Mr. O’Dell’s excellent instructional skills and subject matter expertise in providing training to all team personnel, and especially to new hires, has directly contributed to InterSpec’s superb safety record in the field. His current engineering inspection and construction knowledge, coupled with his navy experience, has contributed immensely to his performance as the Safety Coordinator for InterSpec. His over ten (10) years of performance as a gas-free superintendent, tank cleaner, and manager makes him an expert in entering and working in confined spaces, both afloat and ashore
Mr. O’Dell wrote, prepared, and delivered Confined Space, First Aid and General Health, and Safety lectures for over forty (40) InterSpec team-members, including all newly hired personnel. He prepared site specific Health and Safety Plans, including addressing Hazardous Materials Handling, Confined Space, General Work Safety, Heat and Cold Stress, and other Environmental Preventative measures.
Currently, Mr. O’Dell is also conducting training (classroom instruction) to the Defense Logistics Agency – Energy (DLA-E) Quality Assurance Representatives (QARs) on Confined Space Entry and Safety Procedures at the DLA-E Headquarters and regionally in Europe (Germany), the Middle East (Bahrain), the Asia-Pacific region (Korea), and the Americas (Alaska, Ft. Belvoir, VA, and Long Beach, CA) as part of a multi-year award.
